Race and the Law Conversations: Voting Rights and Election Law

The College of Law is pleased to announce our new lecture series: Race and the Law Conversations. This series will provide a platform for expert panelists who will engage in much-needed conversations on a wide-range of racial and social justice issues including—but not limited to—racial inequality, police brutality and mass incarceration.
Distinguished Speaker: Professor Pamela S. Karlan, Stanford Law School
Professor Karlan is the Kenneth and Harle Montgomery Professor of Public Interest Law & Co-Director of the Supreme Court Litigation Clinic. She is one of the nation's leading experts on voting and the political process. Professor Karlan has served as a commissioner on the California Fair Political Practices Commission, an assistant counsel and cooperating attorney for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and a Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.
NIU Law Professor Jeffrey Omari will moderate the discussion.
