The Croatian coastline and its islands rank among the most intricately indented coastlines in the world. Of the 1,244 islands, islets, cliffs and reefs, only 50 are inhabited. Due to the rugged coastline and being only 30 miles wide at its widest part, the Dalmatian coast is known for its warm sea and fantastic ports of call and is best seen from the deck of a passing ship.
