Huskies Invest Virtual Golf Outing

Help NIU Athletics get the annual Huskies Invest campaign started and enjoy a great day on the golf course by signing up for the first Huskies Invest Virtual Golf Outing. Compete with Huskies from across northern Illinois, across the United States and even around the world for NIU prizes!

Get your foursome together and play a scramble, or play as an individual. Any level of golfer can win as you purchase or earn mulligans and enter contests by using social media and tagging NIU Athletics. Every golfer will receive a Huskie Prize Pack just for participating, with the winning team and individual scoring big while shooting low!

Best of all, every entry benefits NIU Athletics, helping offset the financial impact of COVID-19 and supporting Huskie student-athletes. Simply register your foursome together—or play your own scorecard—and hit any par 72 course for 18 holes anytime between Sept. 25 and Oct. 10.

Every participant will receive a Huskies Invest Virtual Golf Outing Prize Pack, consisting of a golf towel and NIU poker chip ball marker. Prize packs will be shipped directly to the address provided at the time of registration. All those who register before Sept. 15 should receive their door prize by the start of the event, while those who register to play after Sept. 15 may see a shipping delay.

Once your round of golf is complete, take a picture of your final scorecard and share with the Huskie Athletic Fund team by email at huskieathleticfund@niu.edu.  The top three finishing teams will receive items courtesy of Village Commons Bookstore, including a prize of a $100 gift certificate to VCB for each member of the first-place team and for the individual winner, and there will be a special prize for the last place group!

Interested in earning a FREE mulligan for your team? Wear a NIU polo, t-shirt, jacket, or hat to the course and snap a photo! From there, post it on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, tag @NIUAthletics, and use #NIUVirtualGolf. Do that and you’ve earned your group a free mulligan! Each team can earn up to one mulligan PER PARTICIPANT via this promotion.

Longest Drive (Men & Women): Playing somewhere outside of DeKalb County? We have a special prize for the participant who registers their home address and plays at a course farthest (in miles) from the NIU campus.

Worst Shot/Lie: In this game, even the best golfers end up in trouble! Snap a photo of the WORST lie or shot position that you have throughout your round, then post it on Twitter, Facebook OR Instagram. Be sure to tag @NIUAthletics using #BadShot, and you could win a prize!

Closest to the Pin: Did you just stick it close on a par 3? Take a picture of your ball on the green and post it to Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, tag @NIUAthletics with the hashtag #ClosestToPin for your chance to win a great prize!

Net proceeds from the Virtual Golf Outing event will count toward this year’s Huskies Invest campaign and will be used to help offset the financial impact of COVID-19 on NIU Athletics. Get your foursome together, register, enjoy a great day on the course and Go Huskies!
