Meet a Huskie: Marisel Vera, ‘81, Author of The Taste of Sugar

Join author Marisel Vera, ’81, as she discusses her newly published novel The Taste of Sugar, which has garnered rave reviews in The New Yorker and Washington Post, as well as being named a “summer must read” by O, The Oprah magazine.

Vera, a journalism graduate, will talk about her process from NIU alumna to author. She will discuss the process of writing and the inspirations of The Taste of Sugar, as well as her first novel, If I Bring You Roses.
