Rockford Send Off

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED. If you have already RSVP'd , someone from the NIU Alumni Association will be reaching out to you.

Help us send our Huskies off to another exciting year at NIU!

The NIU Rockford Alumni Club and the NIU Alumni Association would like to invite alumni and students to a special send-off for our new and returning Huskies before the fall semester begins in DeKalb.

This event will include updates from NIU’s President Lisa C. Freeman, Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara, and recognition of area scholarship recipients and donors. These scholarships include the Rockford Promise and the David and Diane Graf Rockford Endowed Scholarship.

Come out and enjoy a picnic-style lunch, fun and networking with NIU alumni and students from the Rockford area. Everyone's favorite mascot Mission will also be in attendance.

This free event will take place Sunday, Aug. 15, at 1 p.m. at Sinnissippi Park Twin Shelter #1, in Rockford. If you are a current or incoming NIU student, you may sign up for the event here.

Following the event, attendees are welcome to attend a one-hour private viewing of the Savage Gardens Carnivorous Plant Exhibit at the Nicholas Conservatory from 3-4 p.m. courtesy of the Rockford Park District.

This event will be sponsored by the NIU Rockford Alumni Club, NIU Admissions and the NIU Alumni Association.
