Experience NIU while visiting with your fellow alumni and friends and enjoying a production of "Romeo & Juliet" in historic downtown St. Charles, Illinois.

Alumni and Friends Reception 12-1:30 p.m.
Start your Sunday afternoon at Pollyanna Brewing Company’s St. Charles Taproom for a reception from 12–1:30 p.m. with NIU’s Dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts Paul Kassel. Kassel, the director of Romeo & Juliet, will discuss the production, share how he continues to support alumni and give an update on the College of Visual and Performing Arts.

Shakespeare in the Park 2-4:30 p.m.
Following the reception, guests will attend the Kane Repertory Theatre’s final staging of William Shakespeare’s "Romeo & Juliet" beginning at 2 p.m. at the historic pavilion at Pottawatomie Park, along the banks of the Fox River.

Tickets for this event are $35 each, $30 for kids, and include hors d’oeuvres and a beverage. All sales are final.

The Kane Repertory Theatre (KRT) is a professional, 501(c)(3) non-profit theater company located in St. Charles, Illinois. Founded in 2019 by NIU alumni Avery Bowne, M.F.A. ’19, and Daniil Krimer, M.F.A. ’19, KRT works to spark conversation, evoke empathy and strengthen the community.
