Brick by Brick
Alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and friends are invited to make their mark at NIU by purchasing a brick, which will be placed at the Barsema Alumni and Visitors Center.
The decorative bricks are available in three sizes (6″ x 8″, 6″ x 12″ and 12″ x 12″) and adorn the center’s entranceways and Nelson Terrace. To purchase a brick at the BAVC, please download the printable form below and mail or fax it, or call 815-753-1452 to place an order.
Inscribed bricks are an ideal way to remember a loved one, honor someone special or commemorate a special occasion, such as a graduation, birth or marriage. Thousands of people will pass through the Barsema Alumni and Visitors Center, and your brick will be a noticeable part of this landmark facility.
Please note that your purchase of a brick is recognized by the IRS as a charitable donation.
Brick inscriptions will be displayed in public spaces; therefore, the NIU Foundation will review all brick inscriptions and will contact you if any modifications to your message are necessary. Logos, phone numbers and Internet addresses are not permitted.

You have the option to get a replica brick for your home or garden! These bricks match those that have been purchased for installation at the center (6″ x 8″ and 6″ x 12″ brick replicas are 4″ x 6″ and are available for $40; 12″ x 12″ replicas are 5.5″ x 5.5″ and are available for $50.
