NIU Alumni Association (NIUAA) to host three events in Washington, D.C., area from March 13-15


The Northern Illinois University Alumni Association (NIUAA) invites you and all Washington, D.C., area alumni to participate in Huskies Connect: Washington, D.C.


Events include a happy hour (March 13), a reception (March 14) and a luncheon (March 15), and we would love for you to join your fellow NIU alumni and friends at one or all of these events.

NIUAA Happy Hour - March 13
This event will be held at Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant, where NIUAA members will receive one drink (beer/wine) and appetizers for $10. Nonmembers will pay $15.

Huskie Networking Reception - March 14 
Join honorary Congressional co-hosts Sen. Tammy Duckworth (Hon. Ph.D. '10), Rep. Don Bacon (political science, B.A. '84) and Rep. Robin Kelly (political science, Ph.D. '04) on March 14 for hors d'oeuvres and drinks at the Capitol Visitor Center. Hear from our alumni members of Congress, NIU Acting President Lisa Freeman and members of NIU senior leadership.


Attendees will also meet students from the NIU political science department and nationally renowned NIU faculty researchers. This will be a widely attended event.

Huskie Networking Luncheon - March 15
Huskies Connect: Washington, D.C.
, will wrap up at Charlie Palmer Steak House. Those in attendance will hear about the amazing research being conducted at NIU.
