The Northern Illinois University Alumni Association (NIUAA) opens the inaugural Experience NIU event series on Thursday, Feb. 15, as the NIU Art Museum hosts its biennial NIU School of Art and Design faculty exhibition at 4:30 p.m. in Altgeld Hall.

The event is free. A reception that includes food and an open bar (beer and wine) will be available to dues-paying NIUAA members for $10 and to nonmembers for $15. The reception will be held from 5:50 to 7 p.m.

Museum staff will be on hand to talk about the art. In conjunction with the faculty art exhibition, John Siblik, director of the School of Art and Design, will present a slide show on public sculptures from 5:10 to 5:50 p.m. in Altgeld 125.

This only happens once every two years, so do not miss out on your chance to see some of the finest work that the NIU School of Art and Design faculty and staff have to offer. There are several different pieces that will be displayed, utilizing various different artistic mediums and showcasing the wide diversity of artistry and instruction found at NIU.
